November 2, 1889<br>From "Pictures from the Past" pg. 12: <br>"On Tuesday, June 8, 1886, the Mill was destroyed by a fire, which began at 9 p.m. in a second floor spinning room. The loss estimated at $150,000 was covered by insurance of $122,5000, and The Harding-Smith Company did not resume business.<BR> Land was sold to the Stamford Water Company and later occupied by the Diamond Ice Company." from Lobozza, Carl.
