This text was on the back of the photograph: "The 42nd in our weekly series of old-time pictures depicts three landmarks that were once familiar to thousands of Stamford residents around he turn of the century. The photograph of the five chimney house was taken in 1910 while the photo of the Davenport house was snapped in 1890. The view of Main Street with the famous Carlton House in the center of the picture was taken in 1905. All three buildings have long since been demolished." Note: Only the Davenport House is depicted here, on the corner of Summer and Main Streets.
