Mrs. Henry Ward Beecher, his mother-in-law died here. From collection of H.F Sherwood. Not to be reproduced without Mr.Sherwood's permission. The Rev. Samuel Scoville was pastor of the Congregational Church, 1879-1899. His wife was the daughter of Henry Ward Beecher. His daughter Miss Annie B. Scoville lives in Stamford (1943)
