Description
The Rippowam River was at flood stage when this picture was taken in the Spring of 1880 of the wood trussed bridge on broad street. twonspeople termed the span a "horse bridge--well railed" for obvious reasons. This bridge was replaced in 1884 by the "Iron Bridge." The present concrete and stell bridge was the successor to the "Iron Bridge" and was opened to traffic on November 11, 1954.
