Description
The gift of $43,000 by John Clason in 189, subsequent donations of other Stamford Citizens and a State grant of $25,000 in 1895 provided the sum of $100,000 to establish the Stamford Hospital. The first Hospital opened May 1896 on East Main Street opposite Lockwood Avenue.
